A Wisconsin man has set out to complete a series of the most 'Wisconsin' marathons ever, and they are hilarious feats of athleticism you just have to respect.

A man named Clayton from the Southeastern Wisconsin town of Oconomowoc has set a mission for himself. Run the most Wisconsin-themed marathons he can think of. I do mean actual marathons.

The guy is running (at least) 26.2 miles as part of each of these quirky Wisconsin-themed marathons that have included some iconic things you'd associate with the Badger State that you wouldn't generally imagine as a pairing with running marathons.

What sort of Wisconsin-themed marathons has he run?

Clayton just recently started these quirky marathons, documenting them on his "Far Fetched Fitness" TikTok and YouTube channels.

He only has a couple of them completed so far, but they are awesome!

His first is by no means a small feat. He tackled an ultramarathon (a 50K, or 31 miles) around a roundabout in his hometown of Oconomowoc. The grueling distance is one thing, but the very limited scenery and the slanted surface also provided additional challenges for him.

Next, he did what he branded the "Kwik Trip Marathon", stopping only at Kwik Trips and consuming only Kwik Trip foods and beverages, and even only using Kwik Trip bathrooms.

Over the course of this marathon, he visited 8 Kwik Trips, spending just under $50 in supplies that included Glazer donuts, Powerade, Hot Spot food items and more.

The most viral (but not the last) Wisconsin Marathon is his Culver's Marathon, where he stopped at 5 Culver's locations, eating only cheese curds and Concrete Mixers. This one ended up being just over a marathon's length, hitting 27.79 miles.

His most recent Wisconsin-themed marathon might be the most "Wisconsin" one yet. In a video he published on May 19, he ran the "Brew and Brat" marathon in a Fleet Farm shirt while making stops to eat bratwursts and drinking (non-alcoholic) beer in his hydration bladder backpack.

Phenomenal, am I right?

The reason for running these quirky Wisconsin-themed marathons

Clayton recently shared that he started running these absurd, viral marathons and documenting them on his TikTok and YouTube channels, partly for the goofiness of it all, leaning into his 'Midwest tendencies'.

It goes well beyond that, though.

Clayton explained to a Milwaukee TV station that he has had some health scares in recent years. Among those health challenges, he suffered a couple of major injuries a few years ago that had him in a wheelchair for a month and spent six months in physical therapy. On top of all of that, doctors tell him that he will need a hip replacement sometime soon.

He says running these quirky marathons is partially out of gratitude for the fact he can still run, but also in the hopes of inspiring others. His message is to look forward and "don't beat yourself up".

In his TV interview, he said, "Don’t take yourself too seriously along the way, just have fun with it."
