An Act Of Arson Inspired Residents Of Superior To Ban Together For Little Libraries
Many of you have seen the cute little free libraries filled with books in people yards all over the Twin Ports. Well one person or persons decided to destroy one of them on someones private property in Superior by lighting it on fire. I still cannot comprehend what would go through anybodies mind to think that this was an ok thing to do, but some people are just determined to do awful things.
In the wake of this senseless act something very good has come out of it and it was all spearheaded by my former co-worker and Morning show partner Laura (Peterson) Seldon! It was her little library that was set on fire back in January. So she reached out on Facebook to express her frustration about the whole situation, only to find a huge support system of people outraged at what happened.
So, Laura decided to channel this energy into something positive A GoFundMe Page was set up to raise money for little libraries all over the city of Superior and students at Northern Lights Elementary School even pitched in $260. Many more donations came flowing in with one person donating materials and another willing to build them.
So far $2,350 dollars has been raised which is enough to build 15 little fee libraries through out town. For more information or to volunteer on the is project Click Here
