Another Big Lottery Jackpot Winner in Minnesota
2024 continues to be a Powerball paradise in the state of Minnesota.
Last week (August 28), the North Star State saw another player hit it big, matching four numbers and the Powerball for a $50,000 jackpot, which was doubled to $100,000 with the Power Play.
That winning ticket was sold at North Star Gas & Grocery in Henning.
The big payout continues a red-hot trend for Mionnmesot5ra Powerball players this year.
According to the Minnesota Lottery, the win was the 28th Powerball jackpot of $50,000 or more in the state in 2024.
Two of those prizes paid out $1 million:
- March 21: Zumbro Falls
- April 3: Fridley
It's all part of a more than three-decade roll that Minnesota has been on according to GambleSpot, which has tracked all of the Powerball winnings across the country since 1992.
Their numbers show that there have been more than 850 Powerball winners in the state during that time, which is fourth-best in America.
MOST POWERBALL WINS EVER (1992-Present)
- Indiana: 1,2171 wins
- Missouri: 1,046 wins
- Pennsylvania: 918 wins
- Minnesota: 851 wins
- Kentucky: 825 wins
Those numbers don't factor in other games like Lotto America.
Minnesotans are cleaning up there as well with two massive jackpot wins already this year:
- March 6: $1.7 million (Roseville)
- April 30: $1.4 million (Coon Rapids)
