Lake Superior State University Announces Banned Words From 2014
The folks at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan have released their annual list of banished words from the year that was. The school has made a tradition of creating a list of tired words, with this being the 40th such list from LSSU.
So here they are, the words that should go away that were way too overused in 2014:
- Bae
- Polar Vortex
- Hack
- Skill Set
- Swag
- Foodie
- Curate(d)
- Friend-raising
- Cra-cra
- Enhanced interrogation
- Takeaway
- -Nation (as a sports suffix, i.e. Badger Nation)
