Minnesota Beach Named One of America’s Best
Year after year, Americans spend their summer flocking to beaches. A recent survey by Beach.com predicts beach vacations will be the most popular type of trip in 2025.
Don't worry, you don't need to book an expensive trip to enjoy the sun and sand. Pack up the family car and hit the road to explore Minnesota this summer and you’ll find some really cool beaches including one of the best beaches in the entire country, the black beach, and the singing beach.
Known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes," Minnesota has hundreds of beaches at lakes and in state parks that are perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
What Is The Best Beach In Minnesota?
Duluth's Park Point Beach has been recognized as one of the top 25 beaches in the country and is the world's longest freshwater sandbar.
Travel and Leisure says, “The beautiful sandy beach, complete with waves, has the feel of an ocean. It offers great views of Duluth and Lake Superior, and is known for its spectacular sunrises. A nearby playground, barbecue grills, and a ball field are all popular with visitors. Leashed dogs are also welcome.”
We go to Park Point Beach every summer and I can confirm it’s amazing. The sand is extremely soft and the waves are very relaxing.

Discover Minnesota's Singing Beach Near Duluth: Pink Stones & Eerie Sounds
Half an hour north of Duluth, you’ll find Minnesota’s Singing Beach. I’ve never been to this one, but it looks beautiful and I’m really curious to hear it sing.
Islands.com explains this beach is “characterized by its unusual salmon pink stones, which, when the waves lap against them, emit an eerie sound that is utterly unique. If you listen closely as they cascade against the water, tinkle beautifully like a wind chime.”
What Is Minnesota's Black Beach?
Minnesota’s Black Beach is also located along the north shore in Silver Bay, Minnesota.
This beach gets its color from taconite that has been dumped into the water by mining companies and washed ashore. FYI, it is not a sand beach so don't expect to make any castles. The beach is made of tiny, poppyseed-sized, pieces of gravel.
These beaches are definitely worth adding to your summer bucket list. Keep scrolling to discover more fun things to do in Minnesota.
