Duluth Area’s Best Bloody Marys + Beers Crowned At 2025 Bloody Bash

A fun summer fundraising event, now in its fourth year, reached new heights in 2025.

The annual Bloody Bash, hosted at Skyline Social & Games in Hermantown, sets out to do two different things each year.

The first is to have a fun beach-style party on the volleyball courts at Skyline, where the public gets to vote for their favorite Duluth area Bloody Marys and beers competing for top honors.

The other (and the most important of the two) is to raise money for the organization Never Surrender, which sets out to help people dealing with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

While the event is rain or shine, the weather was once again perfect. The hundreds in attendance enjoyed sunny and warm conditions for this great Twin Ports event.

The combination of event ticket sales, raffle ticket sales, bar & restaurant sales at Skyline, and the new addition of Upper Lakes Foods donating additional on-site food sales to the cause all combined to set a new high mark for the annual fundraiser.

The 2025 Bloody Bash turned out to be the biggest one yet, raising $24,460. This overshadows the previous record of $24,124 raised in 2023.

Along with the fundraising component, the Northwoods Band once again donated its time to put on a great show as attendees sampled Bloody Marys, beers, and ciders from various area establishments.

All of those businesses were looking to earn trophies in one of three categories: Best Tasting Bloody, Best Presented Bloody, and Best Snit/Chaser. Here's who won in each category:

2025 Best Tasting Bloody Mary

The team from McKenzie's in Hermantown defended their title from last year, once again winning the title of Best Tasing Bloody Mary in the 2025 event.

2025 Best Presented Bloody Mary

The Boat Club from Duluth made their first-ever appearance at the Bloody Bash this year, and they made a real splash in doing so! In a landslide victory, The Boat Club took home the trophy for Best Presented Bloody Mary in 2025.

2025 Best Beer or Cider Chaser/Snit

While there were many great beers and ciders from the likes of Bent Paddle, Duluth Cider, Earth Rider, Blacklist, Castle Danger, and more, there could only be one winner. Third Street Brewhouse won the 2025 title of Best Chaser/Snit, keeping their string of wins going after also winning in 2024.
