MIX 108's Summer Throwback was the perfect night for fans of 90's hip hop, with gorgeous July weather welcoming the crowd to Bayfront Festival Park. The three billed acts each brought with them a slightly different flavor of performance, with those watching the show enjoying it all.

Coolio's set had a bit of a jam session vibe to it, with his performance being the only one of the evening to feature instrumentalists on stage with him. While he did venture off the beaten path with songs like 2008's "Boyfriend", Coolio hit fan favorites like "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)" and "C U When U Get There". He closed out his set with his number one song from 1995, "Gangsta's Paradise".

Naughty By Nature offered what you might call a "trip through the 90's", performing some of their hits like "O.P.P", "Feel Me Flow", and "Hip Hop Hooray", but also providing a medley of other hits from the era (and a little beyond) including songs from Tupac, Notorious BIG, House of Pain, Biz Markie, and DMX. While all three acts provided solid performances, Naughty By Nature's set proved the most singalong-friendly for even the most casual fans in attendance.

The night culminated with headlining act Bone Thugs-N-Harmony hitting the stage, shifting gears from Naughty By Nature's jukebox-style performance into a set that featured some of Bone Thugs' chart toppers like "Thuggish Ruggish Bone", "1st of tha Month", and their number one single from 1996, "Tha Crossroads".
