Zedd And Subtronics Are Headlining An EDM Festival in Minnesota This Summer

Music festivals are a big thing in Minnesota and Wisconsin during the summer months, but until recently, the majority of them have been either country or rock and roll festivals.

For fans of Electronic Dance Music, there haven't been a lot of options for big, European-style dance festivals. Thankfully, live event producers have been paying more attention to this crowd, and that's resulted in some exciting new choices for the Upper Midwest.

Breakaway Returns to Allianz Field for Year Three

One of the options now available to EDM fans is the Breakaway Music Festival, now in its third year at Allianz Field in St. Paul. This year's festival is scheduled for June 26 and June 27.

Launched in 2024, the festival has previously featured acts like Illenium, John Summit, Tiësto, and Alison Wonderland. In a region better known for country fests and rock stages, Breakaway has quietly carved out a lane all its own.

Zedd Brings His Pop-Friendly Sound to St. Paul

Zedd, a Grammy-winning producer known for the song "Clarity," along with hits like "The Middle" and "Stay," will bring his polished, pop-friendly sound to Breakaway in 2026. He's one of the most recognizable names in mainstream EDM, and his set is expected to draw fans from across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Subtronics Brings the Dubstep Drop

Also headlining the festival is Philadelphia-born producer Subtronics. He's one of the biggest names in dubstep and is known for high-energy sets that often feature his unique "double drops." If you know, you know.

Featuring over 15 supporting acts, including Gryffin, Knock2, ALLEYCVT, Wuki, and many more, the festival will also feature food trucks, a Ferris wheel, and other fun surprises throughout the weekend. For EDM fans in Minnesota, Breakaway 2026 is shaping up to be the summer event to beat.
