A Sneaker Inspired by Butter? This Minnesota Collab Makes It Happen
Collaborations between unexpected brands have become a huge trend, often bringing limited-edition products with surprising twists. This latest partnership might be one of the most unusual yet, and it has strong ties to Minnesota.
Land O’Lakes, based right here in Minnesota, is known for its rich and creamy butter, cheeses, and spreads. Now, the dairy giant is stepping into an entirely new space: footwear.
A Buttery Collaboration No One Saw Coming
The company has teamed up with Clove, a modern footwear brand launched in 2019, to create a limited-edition sneaker line that blends comfort, community, and a splash of buttery style.

The highlight of the collaboration is a sneaker in a creamy “butter yellow,” inspired by Land O’Lakes butter. The limited-edition shoes feature soft design elements that mirror the “comforting magic” of butter, while also leaning into one of the hottest color trends of 2025.
This collaboration isn’t just about making a fashion statement. Land O’Lakes is donating $15,000 worth of butter, nearly 3,800 pounds, while Clove is donating 88 pairs of sneakers to Philabundance, one of Philadelphia’s largest food banks.
Clove was founded after its creator, Joe, was inspired by his wife, a nurse, who needed durable and comfortable shoes for long hospital shifts. What started as a healthcare shoe brand has since grown into a go-to favorite for anyone on the move, selling over one million pairs in just five years.
The new sneakers drop today, September 16, and only a limited number of pairs are available.
