Grand Opening For Duluth Skechers Store At The End Of September

Earlier this year, we shared that a dedicated, stand-alone Skechers store would be opening in the Twin Ports area. Remodeling and other preparations have been underway through the summer, and it's just about time for the retailer to open to the public.

I stopped over the weekend to investigate the status of the new store and learn more about what their plans are for when they open to the public. Here's what I learned.

Where is the new Skechers store located?

If you haven't already seen it, the new Skechers retail store in the Duluth area is in the old David's Bridal location in the Burning Tree Plaza, near Best Buy just off Maple Grove Road.

David's Bridal closed in 2023, leaving the space vacant for Skechers to expand north, making this the company's furthest-north Minnesota store, as well as their only location in the state not in the Twin Cities area.

When is the Duluth Skechers store opening?

A handwritten sign on the door of their store explains that they will be opening on Friday, September 27. As I was checking out the sign, an employee came out to greet me and confirm the information on the sign.

When I was there, crews appeared to be putting the finishing touches on getting the store ready, with a ladder and lots of boxes around the store.

The store's regular hours will be Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and Sundays from 11 am to 7 pm.

What are they doing for their grand opening?

The employee I spoke with was quick to welcome me back when they open on Friday, explaining that they will be offering a sale to kick off their time in Duluth. The sale, also highlighted on signs near the entry to the store, will be a buy one, get one half-off "sale-a-bration".
