New Chicken Restaurant Now Planning On Expanding To Minnesota
While several Minnesota restaurants have recently announced that they are closing their doors forever, one new chicken chain just said it will open soon in the North Star State.
Minnesota may be the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but could we also be the land of 10,000 restaurants specializing in fried chicken and chicken sandwiches? While Revival, a local restaurant that specialized in fried chicken, suddenly closed the doors of its locations in Minneapolis, St. Paul and St. Louis Park in January, there are still a lot of places in Minnesota that will sell you some chicken.
For instance, Raising Cane's, which specializes in chicken fingers, has 17 locations across Minnesota and continues to expand. Additionally, Dave's Hot Chicken has announced plans to open up to 18 locations throughout the state, including cities like Rochester and St. Cloud.

>And then there are other national chains like KFC, Popeyes, and Chick-fil-A that specialize in chicken and also operate multiple outlets across the Bold North. Chick-fil-A alone already has 27 locations in the Gopher State, with plans to add a second location in Rochester later this year or in early 2026.
Now comes word that *another* chicken-based restaurant chain has put Minnesota on the list of places where it would like to expand. That's the word from the restaurant industry site, QSR, which said the Chick N Max chain 'has mapped out development goals to add as many as 50 locations to its pipeline across the region in the next two years.'

And Minnesota happens to be front-and-center on their list. The QSR story says Chick N Max, which is based in Witchita, Kansas, is expanding along the I-35 corridor and is looking at Minnesota to add 'upwards of 10 restaurants across the Twin Cities metro area,' QSR said.
Chick N Max offers 10 flavors of chef-crafted sandwiches, made with almond wood-smoked pulled chicken or fried tenders, QSR noted. Here's how Chick N Max describes their products:
At Chick N Max, you’ll find juicy, golden, freshly cooked and crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken at the center of every dish. The menu features our Legendary Sandwiches, Crispy Tenders and our signature Almond-Wood Smoked chicken.
Currently, the Chick N Max site says it has four locations in Witchita and one location in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The QSR story noted that in addition to Minnesota, Chick N Max was also looking at expanding into other parts of Kansas, as well as Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Texas.
