The city of Duluth and Duluth Career Night planning team, along with community partners and several local sponsors are hosting a Construction Career Night at The DECC.

The career night will happen on Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm in Paulucci Hall at the DECC. Duluthians will be able to check out a variety of construction careers through hands-on opportunities with local union apprenticeship programs. Plus city officials are working with contractors, unions, and community partners to build pathways into these jobs, particularly for women and underrepresented populations.

Duluth and the Northeast Region are anticipating a significant need for skilled construction workers in the next few years. These are well-paying jobs that offer earn-as-you-learn training opportunities. The City of Duluth is working with contractors, unions, and community partners to build pathways into these jobs, particularly for women and underrepresented populations. Not only is it a great well-paying job, but they also will provide earn-as-you-learn training opportunities.

The press release states that contractors and building trades unions are interested in hiring and supporting women entering the construction industry, and in diversifying their labor force.
