For a beverage that's been unavailable for purchase for 28 years, it sure has a large, dedicated following.  We're talking about Crystal Pepsi - that clear cola soft drink that was sold in the United States by PepsiCo for two short years - 1992 to 1994 - before being pulled off the shelves.  Sure there have been a few, short, temporary nostalgia-driven releases since then - but the drink that many associate with the 1990's has stayed that way.

As the ubiquitous soft drink gets ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary, PepsiCo is bringing it back; and just like those past nostalgia releases, this one is also for a short time.

As a matter of fact - its release is so short that you've probably already missed your chance to get a 6-pack.

Let's face it - while Pepsi wanted the publicity (which they got), they really didn't want to bring back the clear cola that's become the thing of legends.

Vice President of Marketing at Pepsi, Todd Kaplan, offers:

"Since 2022 marks the 30-year anniversary of Crystal Pepsi, we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate and reward the passionate fans who have been clamoring online for its return.  And what better way to kick off 2022 than to throw it back to 1992 in order to get their hands on this highly-limited edition batch of Crystal Pepsi."

Put the emphasis on "highly limited edition".  If you missed your chance, perhaps you'll need to wait another 30 years.  Or, try your luck on Ebay. Either way, enjoy!
