There's good news if you're looking to head across the pond from Minnesota to Scandinavia, as Delta Air Lines has just added another brand new direct flight starting in 2025.

Seeing as the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is Delta Air Line's second-largest hub outside of its headquarters in Atlanta, it's not a surprise that Minnesota's biggest airline just announced that it was adding another new, non-stop flight from MSP to Europe starting next year.

It was just last year Delta announced that in May 2024, it was resuming seasonal flights from Minneapolis (MSP) to Dublin, Ireland (DUB). Shortly after that, Aer Lingus, the flag carrier and national airline of Ireland, would also be starting direct flights to MSP from Dublin in 2024 as well.

And now, there's good news if you didn't get a chance to check out the Emerald Isle in 2024 because both airlines have now said that those direct routes between the Land of 10,000 Lakes and Ireland will be flying again in 2025. We just spent a week in Ireland in September and flew over and back on Delta's new direct flight from MSP to Dublin and it was amazing!

Plus, Delta Air Lines announced Friday that it was adding a brand-new flight with nonstop service from its hub at MSP to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) starting in May of 2025. Delta said the new flight will be offered three times a week and will be one of seven total direct flights from Minnesota to Europe next year.

This news comes on the heels of Delta's new partnership with SAS, the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Under this new codeshare agreement, Delta's Minnesota passengers and SAS customers traveling to Copenhagen from MSP will also gain access to more than 80 additional destinations beyond Copenhagen, Delta said.

MSP, which has been recognized as the Best Airport in the Country again this year, is the 19th busiest airport in North America and served nearly 35 million passengers in 2023. That's a lot of passengers making their way to our fair state, right? So keep scrolling to see some of the most common things we native Minnesotans always have to explain to outsiders!
