Traveling can be stressful, and modern airports do their best to ease that tension by offering a variety of amenities. From shopping and dining to wellness spaces and even art, airports have become more than just transportation hubs.

MSP Named Among the Best for Airport Art

Minnesota’s largest airport is already a popular stop for travelers looking to grab a bite to eat before or between flights. Now, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is also being recognized for something a little more unexpected. USA Today has nominated MSP as one of the best airports in America for art, putting it in the running for their 10BEST list.

Art All Around the Airport

When you’re rushing to your gate, you might not notice the art around you, but it’s everywhere. Many of the top airports in the U.S. and around the world showcase local artists and cultural traditions, and MSP is no exception. Through its Arts@MSP program, overseen by the Airport Foundation MSP, the airport highlights visual and performing arts that bring color and culture to the travel experience.

Art installations at MSP range from mosaics and sculptures to murals, floor art, and large-scale displays. There’s even a “community piano” where anyone can sit down and share a tune with fellow travelers. Local musicians and performers are also scheduled throughout the year, turning terminals into unexpected concert venues.

Voting Now Open

Voting for USA Today’s list is open until October 6, and the top 10 winners will be announced on October 15. MSP currently sits in 15th place, while Tampa International Airport holds the top spot. Minnesotans can help push MSP higher by casting their votes online and supporting an airport that’s more than just a gateway, it’s also a gallery.

Minnesota's 5 Shortest State Highways - Don't Blink, Or You'll Miss Them!

Don't blink, or you'll miss them! These state highways are pretty shockingly short!

For the purpose of this list, I decided to exclude the sizable list of short state highways that serve state institutions like correctional facilities and hospitals. These are just connections to those facilities, so they have a very specific purpose besides just being a stretch of road.

Let's take a look at where these roads are and just how short they really are.
