Disney Teams Up With Minnesota-Made SPAM
Disney’s fan-favorite alien, Stitch, will be featured on three new limited-edition SPAM cans. The designs are inspired by Disney’s upcoming live-action version of Lilo & Stitch, set to hit theaters on May 23rd.
The Hawaiian-themed SPAM cans aim to celebrate the state’s deep-rooted love for the canned meat, with packaging and promotion reflecting the film’s tropical setting and themes of family and tradition.

Hormel’s new campaign includes 15-second streaming ads blending SPAM, Disney magic, and Hawaiian culture, focusing on themes of joy, creativity, and ohana — the Hawaiian word for family.
New Packaging Celebrates Hawaii’s SPAM Obsession
“Both the SPAM brand and The Walt Disney Studios have created timeless connections with families across generations, making this collaboration a natural fit,” said Daniel Kubiak, senior brand manager for SPAM.
SPAM became a staple in Hawaii during World War II because of its long shelf life. Today, the state consumes over 7 million cans per year.
That popularity extends to fast food restaurants, McDonald’s in Hawaii even serves SPAM in breakfast sandwiches, something you definitely won’t find at a Minnesota drive-thru.
