Duluth Children’s Museum Reopens This Weekend At New Location
It has been 2 long years but the time has finally come, The Duluth Children's Museum will finally be opening their doors at their new location at 2125 West Superior Street in Duluth. It used to be known as Randy's Restaurant. They will be hosting an Opening Celebration on Saturday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This is just the first phase of the construction in the new building which is contained to the first floor. Fundraising has been started to raise money to put in an elevator and build exhibits for the second floor and add additional exhibits.
Cameron Kruger, President/CEO of the Duluth Children's Museum said in a press release reported by WDIO:
We're thrilled to welcome kids and families back to the museum. It was important for us to find a permanent home in Lincoln Park and create new experiences that will delight long time members and first time visitors alike, and I'm excited to show the community what we've done.
For members of the Duluth Children's Museum they are invited to a sneak preview event on Friday August 13 from 10am-2pm with a ribbon cutting at Noon. On Saturday guests will enjoy a variety of activities and live music in the parking lot.
Guests will be excited to see that exhibits have been updated for the space and include an Adventure Treehouse play structure, Little Explorers area for toddlers, STEM learning stations, and a Pop Up Outdoor play space giving kids a chance to climb, slide, and explore while construction continues indoors.
This new home for the museum is so important for the community and children of all ages will have the chance to learn and explore in this awesome new space for years to come.
