Duluth will be part of sports history this weekend!

The first season of The Arena League has been an exciting one, with the Duluth Harbor Monsters making a splash at the DECC Arena this summer. The Harbor Monsters finished the regular season with a 5-3 record, coming in as the second-best team in the league.

After a solid regular season, the Harbor Monsters defeated the Ozarks Lunkers on August 3 to punch their ticket to go to the first-ever championship of The Arena League, branded as "ArenaMania".

As the game in Duluth came to a close in huge fashion (winning 50-18), fans were also watching the scoreboard for the other playoff game between the Kansas City Goats and Iowa Woo, which would determine who and where the Harbor Monsters would play in the championship. Had top-seeded Kanas City won, Duluth would be heading down I-35 for ArenaMania next weekend.

As fate would have it, fourth-seeded Iowa Woo went on to upset the Goats on Saturday night, making the Harbor Monsters the host team for the first-ever championship of this new league!
