Duluth Police Identify Man Seen Hitting Reporters Phone
The Duluth Police says that they have identified the man seen at the recent Trump rally in Duluth hitting a phone out of a reporters hand that was covering the event.
The attack on the WCCO reporter happened at Airport Road and Venture Ave near the Duluth Airport where the rally was happening on September 30th.
Duluth Police said in a press release, "A male reported that while recording footage on his phone for a news report, another male hit the phone out of the reporting party’s hand. The male who hit the phone left without incident several minutes before the event was reported to officers. There were no injuries or property damage reported in connection with this incident."
At first the Duluth Police said that the reporter decided not to press charges, but
"after further discussions" the victim decided to press charges and the case is City Attorney’s Office for review of misdemeanor charges of Disorderly Conduct.
The WCCO photojournalist Dymanh Chhoun was trying to film a Trump supporter that was engaging with Biden supporters when the man approached him and said, “You guys want to be peaceful? Be peaceful! You want to be violent? Come to me!”
