Duluth Resident Shows Support To Ukraine With Snow Sculpture
Throughout the years Duluthian Harry Welty has spread Winter cheer with his amazing snow sculptures outside his house on 21st Avenue East and 4th Street in East Duluth.
Some of his sculptures have been political in nature where he even did Donald Trump as a baby one year and then someone decapitated it.

Welty's latest sculpture has King Kong pinning Godzilla to the ground with the year 2021 underneath and some carolers looking like they're getting ready to sing in the background.
With recent events going on with Russia and Ukraine, Welty has made an update to the sculpture. He got rid of the year, he put Putin on Godzilla and gave King Kong Ukraine's flag. Oh, the carolers are no longer in the background either. When he shared it on Facebook, he said "I don't usually take sides between mammals and reptiles but I'm making an exception this time." Check it out below:
Other sculptures that Welty has constructed have included an Alice in Wonderland scene, a tribute to those lost in the Sandy Hook School Shooting, The Grinch with a "Make Whoville Great Again" sign, a snow serpent, snow castle, Mount Rushmore, Charlie Brown (tribute to Charles Schultz after his death), and Bill Clinton playing a saxophone. You can see photos of some of these sculptures here.
