Duluth’s Rubber Chicken Theater’s “New Year’s Cluckin’ Eve” To Wrap Up 2021
After having a successful run for the holiday season, Duluth's Rubber Chicken Theater announced they will be putting on a "New Year's Eve" production.
Rubber Chicken Theater is back: masked, vaxxed, and ready to ring in 2022 with a New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. The production will take place at 7:30 pm on Friday, December 31, at the Spirit of the North Theater in the Fitger's Complex.
Brian Matuszak told me there will be beer, wine, and themed drinks available from The Boat Club Restaurant. This is a nice perk when you do the show in the Fitger's Complex. Brian also told me the show is much better with a couple of Grounded Socrates. (Or any other cocktail or beer)
Out of respect for performers, cast, and crew, Rubber Chicken asks that only vaccinated individuals attend the show and that they also wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines. Performers will be masked offstage, but will not be wearing them onstage. Which is the same kind of rules the Duluth Playhouse follows.
Some original comedy sketches poke fun at local, regional, and national issues. Some will be reprised from the recent holiday revue, but some will be brand new for this show. There will also be live musical performances (including Steven Solkela’s Accordion-Wielding Overpopulated One-Man Orchestra from Virginia),
There will also be New Year’s Resolutions from local celebrities, surprise cameos, and prize giveaways, including a 32” flat-screen TV from WDIO. and other sponsors. Brian Matuszak also told me he will be hosting and the sketches will feature the comedy and performances of Ben Churchill, Jeremy Churchill, Madison Grimsbo, Kyleigh Grimsbo, Tate Haglund-Pagel, Maria Lockwood, Kaylee Matuszak, Chris Nollet, and Joel Youngblom. Jadie Schwarzkopf handles the technical elements and Linda Bray is the piano accompanist extraordinaire.
