
CNN Plans Rare Live Broadcast From Minnesota Concert
Minnesota will play host to a huge event later this month that will feature a lineup of iconic musical acts and broadcast worldwide.
Farm Aid 40 celebrates the 40th anniversary of the legendary concert that raises awareness and money to support family farmers in America. That mission continues on September 20 at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Big Names and Local Favorites In Minnesota
The show will feature performances by the founders of Farm Aid, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp. Dave Matthews, a longtime supporter and Farm Aid board member, will also take the stage. Duluth’s own Trampled by Turtles are set to represent Minnesota alongside a variety of other acts, including Wynonna Judd, Margo Price, Billy Strings, and many more.
Worldwide Broadcast From MN For The First Time
For those unable to attend, Farm Aid announced several new partnerships to ensure a worldwide audience. For the first time in the event’s history, CNN will broadcast the show live.

The special presentation begins at 6 PM, with anchors John Berman and Laura Coates leading coverage from Minneapolis. The broadcast will showcase headlining performances, interviews with artists, and stories of Minnesota farmers, wrapping up around 11 PM.
Streaming Options For MN Farm Aid Concert
The event will also stream on the CNN app, CNN’s website, FarmAid.org, and through the concert platform Nugs without a paid subscription.
“Farm Aid is thrilled to partner with CNN this year,” said Jennifer Fahy, co-executive director of Farm Aid. “It is especially fitting during our 40th anniversary to share this celebration with a global audience.”
