Former Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson Arrested For Domestic Violence

Adrian Peterson was a shining star and fan favorite with the Minnesota Vikings for many years, but now the free agent is in the spotlight again for all the wrong reasons. Peterson was arrested Sunday (yesterday morning) at the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) .

According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department they received a phone call around 8:30am about a possible domestic violence situation on board a plane headed for Houston Texas. They then responded to "a verbal and physical altercation between a male suspect and a female victim."

36 year old Peterson who was traveling with his wife was taken off the plane booked by the Los Angeles Police Department and was released that same afternoon on $50,000 bail. A representative for Peterson said he and his wife had a verbal argument on the plane. Apparently Peterson grabbed her wedding ring which caused her to get a scratch on her finger. The source went on to say that his wife Ashley is not going to press charges.

Apparently Ashley Peterson stayed on the plane with the other passengers and continued on her way to Houston. The last time Peterson was in the spotlight in a negative manner was in 2014 where he was charged with felony child abuse for using a switch to spank his four year old son.

Since he has left the Vikings, the 15 year veteran has bounced around to a number of teams in the NFL and finished this past season on the injured reserve list with the Seattle Seahawks. For more on this story go to espn.com.
