One of the many things that makes pizza great is the variety of crust. Some like their pizzas thin and crispy, others prefer a classic pan crust, while others crave a thick, hearty slice. If that’s you, you’re in luck.

A new Chicago-style deep-dish pizza restaurant is set to open its second location in Minnesota. Giordano’s has been satisfying deep-dish cravings in Richfield for nearly ten years, and now the Chicago favorite is setting its sights on the Mall of America.

Chicago Deep-Dish Heads to Mall of America

Celebrating 50 years of making Mama Giordano’s “Italian Easter Pie,” the restaurant opened its first location on Chicago’s South Side in 1974. Their double-crusted, Wisconsin cheese-stuffed pizzas quickly became a Midwest icon.

Giordano’s has two locations currently listed as “coming soon”, one in Washington, D.C., and the other at Bloomington’s Mall of America. The new restaurant is expected to open in spring 2026 and will be located on Level 3, South.

Carrie Charleston, Vice President and Head of Leasing at Mall of America, said in a press release, “We’re excited to welcome this iconic Chicago brand to our property and give guests a true taste of Chicago right here in Minnesota, connecting regional flavor with national appeal.”

Along with their iconic deep-dish pizza, Giordano’s also offers a full menu of Italian-inspired classics including pastas, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers.
