Update: Great Harvest Bread Co. is open again as of Monday (July 13th).

Great Harvest Bread Co. in Duluth is shutting its doors temporarily.

The bakery and cafe announced the news on their Facebook page Monday (July 6th), stating that one of their employees has contracted COVID-19. Here's what they had to say:

Over the weekend we had an employee test positive for COVID-19 (the employee was able to confirm they contracted it from a social gathering they attended and not at work). Due to this fact we are temporarily CLOSING the bakery until we can get the rest of our staff tested to ensure we are doing our part to slow the spread of the virus. We hope to re-open soon but won’t until we can confirm it is safe to do so!
They did not specify how long they plan to be closed or how long testing their employees would take. This is another big hit for the restaurant, having to already close back in March when concerns of COVID-19 started growing and restaurants and businesses were forced to shut down temporarily.
Great Harvest Bread Co. is known for their delicious coffee and smoothies, bread, bakery items and sandwiches. They are located at 3 S 13th Avenue South in Duluth, near Jimmy Johns and Super One Foods.
