'Haunted Shack' Halloween Attraction In Carlton For Sale

When it comes to Halloween attractions in Northeastern Minnesota, there are two that come to mind for fans. One is Duluth's Haunted Ship, and the other is the Haunted Shack in Carlton.

It looks like the future of the latter is in question, as the owner of the long-time haunted attraction has put the whole thing up for sale.

Pat Stojevich, the man behind the Haunted Shack, recently posted to social media that he is selling the entire Haunted Shack attraction. He shared that it was "time for me to move on" from the operation, which has run for 33 years.

In the social media listing, Stojevich says he is looking to sell everything together, with the new owner needing to relocate it to its new home.

Included in the rundown of what's for sale are a 3,400-square-foot building, four towable semi-trailers for storing & hauling props, several Frightprop Picoboo controllers, numerous pneumatic and animatronic props, a vortex tunnel, the "Hellevator", more than 400 costumes and masks, sound and light equipment, "too many static props to list", and three haywagons, among other things.

Stojevich was diagnosed with skin cancer a little more than a year ago, which has progressed to stage 4, inoperable cancer. Hearing that, his desire to step away from the demands of organizing the Haunted Shack is certainly more than understandable.
