Hoops Brewing Lives On? Brewery’s Mysterious Social Media Post Teases Something New
Much to the dismay of many Twin Ports area beer fans, Hoops Brewing closed its Duluth brewing and taproom facility in Canal Park. Despite that closure, it sounds like there may be some kind of future for the popular Duluth craft beer brand.
Owner Dave Hoops announced in January that the brewery he had run for about a decade would close on Monday, February 23.
The brewery was packed, full of people who loved the community that had developed around Dave Hoops, the venue he had created, and the beer he and his team had made over the years.
During the course of the evening, there was a final toast to Dave and to Hoops Brewing, which was understandably emotional. At the end of the evening, that seemed like it. The end of the Hoops Brewing era.
Except, maybe it isn't.
The Hoops Brewing social media has been quiet since just after the February closure of the Canal Park brewery, up until just recently.

In a social media post on Sunday, March 15, there was a mysterious tease of something new coming.
The social media post simply read "The next chapter of Hoops coming soon".
Lots of fans in the comments expressed excitement for what the news could be. Lots of people simply expressed anticipation for what "the next chapter" could be, while some offered guesses.
The most common guesses among fans in the comments included new owners taking over the brewery in Canal Park, or Hoops reopening in a new location.
Personally, I am guessing it isn't new owners for the same space in Canal Park. What made Hoops Brewing what it was is largely Dave Hoops and his take on brewing.

What seems most likely is that you'll be able to grab some Hoops Brewing beer from a new home location. That would, of course, mean he'll be brewing somewhere again. Where? Is that even what "the next chapter" is? We'll keep an eye on it and let you know as soon as we learn more!
