Today we're going back to this week in 1999 and remember a horror comedy about a murderous right hand, the Minnesota House passes the K-12 bill, and a popular song from Jennifer Lopez.

The Horror Comedy 'Idle Hands' starring Devon Sawa, Seth Green, and Jessica Alba was released this week. The film was about a lazy teen who's right hand becomes possessed and goes on a killing spree while his un-dead friends try to help him out. The film was based off the saying "idle hands do the Devil's work". The film did poorly at the box office, but reached cult film status and did a lot better on DVD sales.

The Minnesota House has approved a bill to spend $7.8 billion on K-12 schools over the next two years. The bill is $90 million more than Governor Ventura bugeted for, and spends almost $1 billion more than the previous two years.

In music news, 'Waiting For Tonight' from Jennifer Lopez was released and was the third single from her debut album. The song was originally written for the female group 3rd Party, but the group split up and it was given to J. Lo who put her own spin on the track. The music video was nominated for several awards from the MTV Video Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards.
