Feds Announce Crackdown on Fentanyl Trafficking by Minnesota Gang
Minneapolis, MN (MinnesotaNow) - Federal prosecutors in Minnesota today announced charges against five members and associates of a violent Twin Cities street gang.
Daniel Rosen, the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, says three federal indictments and two criminal complaints were unsealed today alleging the men were involved in the distribution of fentanyl through their involvement in the Family Mob Gang. If convicted of the drug trafficking allegations, they could face life in prison.
SWAT Teams Deployed
According to a news release, the charges are connected to several arrest and search warrants that were executed by FBI agents and local law enforcement, including multiple SWAT teams throughout the Twin Cities.
“The Family Mob Gang is a ruthless criminal organization that uses violence to traffic poisonous narcotics, including fentanyl. No more,” said U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen. “As alleged, these defendants dumped countless doses of fentanyl into our community. My office is proud to work with our local, state, and federal partners to pursue justice against violent criminals and those who profit from distributing dangerous narcotics.”
