I would say that at least 75% of our birthday celebrations in our family have been at Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in Superior. It's been a tradition since our kids were very little. Now our oldest just turned 18, and of course, I had to mention it was his birthday. Here comes the sombrero! But this time they added something else nice!

So if you mention to your waiter or waitress that it's someone's birthday, they'll gather around to sing Happy Birthday in Spanish. Which is Cumpleanos feliz. They slap the sombrero on your head, sing, and then serve you up fried ice cream. Love it!

I didn't even realize that one of the staff members was taking our picture during the celebration with a pocket polaroid camera. When the singing was over, they handed the photo over.

It's a simple gesture, but what a great idea! Now we have a physical photo of Zach to remember his 18th Birthday dinner at Guadalajara. In case you were wondering, he had two chicken quesadillas, Grandpa and my daughter shared beef nachos, my wife had the chicken chimichanga, and I ordered the quesadilla barria tacos. (Which will probably be my order for the rest of my life.)

Thanks, Guads, for the memories, and we'll keep coming back for more Birthdays. Don't ever change your margarita recipe. It's the best!

13 Things That Happen Each Time You Visit Superior's Guadalajara

Guadalajara is one of our family's favorite restaurants. It's a popular place in Superior, and I couldn't help but notice we kind of have the same things happen each and every time we go.
