The City Of Superior has been making improvements to a lot of their parks lately, including amenities for dog's and their humans.

Last year, the City Of Superior turned a number of hockey rinks into dog parks, adding a two-door gate and having doggie poop bags available. It's been nice to utilize the empty space in the summer and have somewhere your dog can run off-leash. In my dog's case, they made a nice high jump for her to bolt across. (That dog CAN JUMP!)

Recently they added a new station to the Millenium Trail and dog park. It's a water refill station, so people can refill their water bottles right at the trail. The cool thing is it also has a designated water bowl for dogs to drink water. That's awesome!

Dogs need water too on hot summer days, and unfortunately, it's not always easy to carry a bowl with you. This is great for the dogs so they can take a break from the dog park (or a walk on the trail) and get hydrated and cool off.

Next to the water station is a bike repair station available for public use. These have popped up in several areas around the city.

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
