What’s Going On With The Remodeling At These Kwik Trips In Superior?

Have you noticed some of the Kwik Trips in Superior have been undergoing a remodel? Given the fact that they've only been around for a few years, it took me kind of by surprise. I first noticed the Kwik Trip on Belknap across from Central Flats had their parking area roped off. Within days new walls were put up. But what is it for?

Then, I noticed the Kwik Trip that's over on Banks Avenue, just off the viaduct to the Bong Bridge was also being remodeled. What's going on there?

So, I got kind of nosey and when I was chatting with the cashiers at the counter I asked them what was going on. It turns out that for at least the Belknap location the floorplan for customers in the store remains unchanged, but it will be a lot better for the employees.

They explained that they were adding a walk-in cooler to the side of the store at the 918 Belknap location (store #171).

The reason they had to put it on the side is that behind that Kwik Trip, it's considered an alley in the city, so they need to keep it open.

The walk-in cooler will free up much-needed room in the kitchen area in the store. As you've probably noticed, Kwik Trip has been expanding its food services in recent years adding chicken and take-home meals for sale.

I haven't personally talked to anyone on the Banks Kwik Trip location, but I'm assuming updates to their kitchen area are also taking place, given the position of the remodel.
