I am sure that my Top 5 picks will be hotly debated since many people are very passionate about their favorite movies, but these are my go to flicks for a good scare or gore.

'Tis the time of the year where the air gets crisp, the leaves are rustling in the trees ready to fall to the ground and it seems to get darker earlier and earlier. It is also the month to binge watch scary movies. Now these picks are not all necessarily scary, but are intense and some are super gory. I love scary movies and these are my Top 5 in no particular order.

    The Omen

The first time I saw this movie I was 10 years old and was at a friends house. Her mom was someone who pretty much let her kids do whatever they wanted, so watching an R rated movie was a big deal to me. My parents would never go for that, or this movie in particular. I had nightmares for weeks and I was convinced that the three number 6's on Damien's head were a real thing. Of course I finally confessed to my mom that I saw the movie because I was so freaked out, and I was not allowed to go to this friends house again.

    The Excorcist

This movie haunted me my entire childhood, thanks to my sister who scared me with a copy of the book and the awful picture of Linda Blair on it. I actually have never had the guts to watch it until about 4 years ago. The special effects are amateurish by today's standards, but I am not gonna lie, one and done with this one. It literally shook me to the core.

    The Hills Have Eyes

This remake of the Wes Craven classic is one of the goriest most disturbing movies I have ever seen in my life. This is not for the faint of heart and perpetuates my fear of being lost in the middle of nowhere, whether it be the woods or in this case the desert.

    Orphan

This is one of those movies where you are on the edge of your seat the entire time. It also has one of the best plot twists I have ever seen. I am no movie critic, but this heart stopping thriller will have you yelling at your television.

    Candyman

The deep raspy wailing of Candyman beckoning Helen the lead character is something you will never forget. This is also a movie with a ton of plot twists, and gore, plus you will never look in your bathroom mirror the same. I ahve never seen the sequels, becasue the original is just to good. Pay attention when watching this one, if you can keep your eyes open the whole time.
