Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Announce Superbowl Live Concert Series Music Lineup [VIDEO]
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were very good friends with Prince and both actually had a brief stint in the group "The Time", before branching out on their own forming Flyte Tyme Studios where they become a very successful production duo with artists like Janet Jackson. Jam and Lewis played a huge part in her solo career producing a few of her multi million selling albums to help her get established as a worldwide artist.
With this current gig Jam and Lewis vowed to make sure that they put together a tribute like no other for their longtime friend Prince. According to the Star Tribune Sheila E. original members of the Revolution and Morris Day & the Time will all take part in a tribute to Prince on Monday, Jan. 29th. The New Power Generation is also set to play another night.
This free outdoor music concert will run January 26th through Game day February 4th in downtown Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall. Other famous Minnesota Artists and Bands will also be performing like: Soul Asylum, Bob Mould and The Jayhawks, The Sounds of Blackness, Mint Condition and The Jets! The dates for these performances and more artists have yet to be announced, so stay tuned for more information.
Jam and Lewis definitely came through with staying true to their Minnesota roots with the music line up, and Ironically enough with this ice cold event it seems appropriate that Idina Menzel will sing “Let It Go,” from the Disney movie “Frozen,” to open the concert series on Friday, Jan. 26.
