WATCH: John Shuster Stops By The Radio Station To Support St. Jude And Talk Olympics
Townsquare Media-Duluth has been raising money for the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for many years with our annual radiothon on B105. During this year's broadcast, which happened February 24-25, we had someone become a Partner In Hope from Superior named John. Shortly after we found out that it was, in fact, John Shuster from the Men's USA Olympic Curling Team. He wanted to help out and offered to donate a signed jersey that he wore in the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
How cool is that? Not only was he going to donate it, but he also donated his time and came in and sat with us for a while. Lauren and I were cheering on Team USA from the studio during the Olympics and were even able to watch a couple of games live during the morning show. It's kind of surreal to have the guy I was watching on TV on the other side of the planet, now sitting in our studio again.
We had a ton of questions and we learned some of the behind the scene stuff at the Olympics. I asked John what his favorite winter sport to watch was besides curling. We also asked about what the journey to the Olympics was like. He talks about being buds with former Viking and now curler Jared Allen, and lots of interesting stuff. Thanks again John for helping us with the St. Jude Radiothon, and way to make us proud!
