Minneapolis has always been recognized as a major bike friendly city, but recently they are under fire, as are other cities in the state of Minnesota.

According to the Star Tribune, the States Bike Lobby is pushing legislation for Mpls/St. Paul and other cities across the state to reduce street speed limits in cities from 30 mph to 25 mph to make riding a bicycle safer.

I understand the need for safety completely and you are very vulnerable on a bicycle. Duluth has already made some improvements on London Road where an actual bike only lane is on the far side of the road. This will be interesting if this does go through on how they would enforce this in various cities through out the state.
