Local Music of the Northland Wanted!

We have an amazing pool of local artists in the Northland.  And I want to be the one showcasing it!  I need your submissions of local music in hopes to start up a show--featuring local music only, called "Locals Only."  Catchy, isn't it? 

I've been kicking around an idea for quite some time.  I think the idea came to me first when I was having a particularly stressful day, and needed to unwind.  I was driving home and put in my favorite album to get me to my "happy place."  The Trampled By Turtles album, called "Stars and Satellites."  Every time I hear it, I feel...peace.  I start to realize that I live in one of the most beautiful places in this country.  It has an amazing power to change my mood.  It makes me feel like I'm home.  I don't know how else to explain it.  I know a lot of you who listen to local music may feel the same way.

I'm trying to put together an hour a week of LOCAL music.  If you're a local artist, band, duo, or whathaveyou, or know one who would like a chance to be heard (and possibly interviewed) on Mix 108, I need submissions!

There are a few ground rules to this project of mine.

1.  Any songs you submit MUST BE RADIO FRIENDLY!  For obvious reasons, we can't and won't play any song if you drop the F-Bomb.  Or any other swear words.  The curses should be edited, not beeped out.

2.  Please don't send any submissions longer than the average song.  It may be freaking awesome, but we can't play a 7 minute song.  I'm hoping to play as much as I can in the short time I'll have allotted for local music.

3.  Sending in a track does not guarantee it will air.  But I will do my best to play your song.

4.  Your song should be radio quality.  I understand the financial burden behind recording tracks to make them sound their best.  However, if your song sounds like you recorded it at the bottom of the ocean, in your garage with a generator running, or in a wind tunnel, I can't make any promises to get your song on the air.

Please help me make this dream a reality.  If you know of a great local band or artist, let them know I'm looking for LOCAL MUSIC!  The best way for me to build my library of the Northand's best local music is word of mouth!  Your mouth!

Please make sure any music you submit also includes your name, the name of the local band/artist, and contact information for both, in case an interview can be scheduled.  Please include where the artist/band is from, and a short bio.

Physical copies of your disc cannot be returned without a self-addressed and stamped envelope.
