A number of Northland businesses and organizations are getting together this weekend (October 21 and 22) for an annual event dedicated to finding adoptable pets new homes as well as celebrating pet owners across the region.
The annual "Love A Pet" event at Miller Hill Subaru brings together a number of Northland animal shelters to highlight adoptable pets in the region and give them a platform for potential pet parents to find a new fury friend.
Animal Allies Humane Society, Lake County Humane Society, Chequamegon Humane Association, The Babinski Foundation, and Carlton County Animal Rescue join the ASPCA with Miller Hill Subaru for this annual weekend event that goes beyond just pet adoption.
Saturday is being called "Caturday", dedicated to cat and kitten adoptions and Sunday is being called "Pup Day", featuring adoptable dogs and puppies. This event gives people that are looking to adopt the chance to get discounted adoption fees, as well!
The event is from 10 am to 3 pm both Saturday and Sunday, with a lot of other things going on beyond the opportunity to adopt a pet at a reduced price.
Microchipping and nail-trimming clinics will be hosted by Animal Allies and Transfurmation Training and Grooming with services being provided for only $10, or free with an item off the Animal Allies wish list, which can be found on their website.
In addition, the Rambler Food Truck will be on site both days from 11 am to 2 pm and a number of animal/pet-themed vendors will be on-site, giving new and current pet owners the chance to find something new or needed for their pet.
