A new book festival is launching this year in Minneapolis and it's drawing some big-name authors for its inaugural year.

Wordplay is a 2-day event sponsored by The Loft Literary Center May 11th and 12th. Events are being held at various locations around Minneapolis including The Loft, Guthrie Theater and First Avenue.

There is a concert kicking off the festival on Friday night, May 10th featuring The Rock Bottom Remainders, a supergroup of top authors including Stephen King, Mitch Albom, Dave Barry, Roy Blount Jr., among others. That show is at First Avenue.

The festival will feature visits from some huge names in the literary world, Stephen King, Mitch Albom, Amy Tan, Dave Barry, Bill McKibben, Tommy Orange, Jared Diamond, Jamaica Kincaid, in total over 100 authors are scheduled to attend.

Tickets range in price from $10 to $250 and registration for the event opens up to the general public on Friday, March 15th at 10 AM. Get all the details about the event here.

Here is some video I found of Stephen King singing with The Rock Bottom Remainders, let's just say he should stick to his day job.
