Minnesota College Student Makes Jewelry From Historic Wood [VIDEO]
Lakeville resident Logan Ketterling wanted to start a business that combined his passion of history and fashion and now makes bracelets with a special story behind them.
Logan whose only 19 years old uses wood from the state's first commercial saw mill. He calls his company Urbain and the planks he uses were once logs cut by the Marine Mill which happened to be the first commercial sawmill in the land of 10,000 lakes located on St. Croix.
The Mill was used 1839 to 1895 and now the wood is being used to make bracelets. Logan even started a Kickstarter to help raise money and awareness of these one of kind bracelets. The campaign is currently sitting on a little over $12,500 which was his goal. There's still nine days left if you would like to purchase a piece of Minnesota history and 'wear the story'.
