This Minnesota Restaurant Now Has The Best Steaks in the Entire Country
Minnesota may have 10,000 Lakes, but it only has one restaurant that now serves some of the best steaks in the entire United States of America.
It's no surprise that Minnesotans like a good steak, right? In fact, steak is a popular meal not just here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes but across the country. According to a survey in this Fox News story, steak is America's favorite meal. And, steak is also what nearly 66 percent of Americans say they would have as their LAST meal too.
That explains the massive amount of steak we consume here in the U.S. Americans downed 27.6 billion pounds of beef in 2020, according to the US Department of Agriculture. The United States accounted for 21.2% of all the beef consumed worldwide, the story said.

Some of the best steaks you can buy these days are dry-aged steaks. According to the AgingRoom, while dry aging is an old and natural process, it can really add to a lot to each steak:
During the dry-aging process, some moisture is expelled and redistributed in the steak, enhancing the flavor and tenderizing the steaks. Dry-aging steak results in a distinctive flavor that has been described as a rich and dense beefy flavor, the Aging Room says.
The Aging Room also notes that not every steakhouse offers dry-aged steaks. But here in Minnesota, we're lucky, because if you're looking to try some of the best dry-aged steaks, there's one restaurant right here in the Gopher State that a new survey says will serve you some of the best in America.
That's the word from this new survey from Eat This Not That!, which looked at eight different steakhouse chains that serve dry-aged steaks. And the number-one choice on their survey has a location here in Bold North: The Capital Grille, in downtown Minneapolis.
The Eat This Not That! survey says the Capital Grille does a lot of things right when it comes to dry-aged steaks, noting that all its dry-aged steaks are hand-cut by an in-house butcher and then aged between 18-24 days.
It specifically recommends the following dry-aged steaks from the Capital Grille:
- A Kona-crusted dry-aged bone-in New York strip with shallot butter
- A dry-aged New York strip au poivre with Courvoisier cream
- A gorgonzola-crusted dry-aged bone-in NY strip with Cabernet reduction
If you want to check it out, you'll find the Capital Grille at 801 Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis-- the only location here in Minnesota. If you don't want to head there, you'll have to head to either Kansas City, Missouri or Milwaukee, Wisconsin to find the next closest Capital Grille locations. Both will take you a while to get there-- the Milwaukee Capital Grille is about 5 hours away from the Twin Cities, while Kansas City's Capital Grill is over 6-and-a-half hours away!
Steak is one of those truly American foods that is a favorite here in Minnesota and is also very popular in other parts of the world. But not every food we love here in the U.S. is also a favorite elsewhere. Keep scrolling to check out some familiar foods that raise eyebrows overseas!
