The Minnesota Vikings added a legit third wide receiver option to their lineup by signing former Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook over the weekend.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that Westbrook was in Minnesota to work out with the team on Saturday, and if everything went ok, he would likely sign with team, well it appears that everything went ok, as Westbrook confirmed the signing on Instagram saying, "I am so excited to venture onto this new journey with the Minnesota Vikings."

The Vikings and Westbrook agreed to a one-year deal, that will team him up with veteran Adam Thielen and one of the hottest young receivers in the NFL, Justin Jefferson. Westbrook hasn't played since last October, when he suffered a torn ACL in week 7.

One of the biggest reasons Westbrook is with the Vikings now is because of WR coach Keenan McCardell, who was his coach in Jacksonville, Westbrook told the Pioneer Press that, "Keenan’s like a father figure to me."

The former fourth round pick from Oklahoma played four season with the Jaguars where he caught 160 passes for 1,720 yards with nine touchdowns, he played 40 games with the team, most of those during his second and third seasons with the team, his first and second seasons were tainted with injuries.
