After more than 50 years of giving a place for car enthusiasts to meet each spring, Motorhead Madness will cross the finish line and end its run.

2021 would have been the 53rd annual Motorhead Madness, but instead of announcing details of the upcoming event organizer Jack DeJoy made the announcement that he has "made the difficult decision to end Motorhead Madness."

In the announcement on Facebook DeJoy said that several factors played into his decision to end the long time event. The death of his wife, Joyce, and friend David Swanson was one of them, he says that they both played a major part in the execution of the show. He also says that the COVID-19 pandemic is obviously a major concern.

"We would like to thank you for all the years of memories, fun, and support of Motorhead Madness! The car owners, club support, commercial vendors, sponsors, and attendees have meant so much to all of us over the years," said DeJoy in the goodbye post on Facebook.

Joyce Dejoy passed away in July, in a Facebook post about her passing, her husband and the Motorhead Madness staff said that she loved the hot rods and enjoyed passing the love of the cars and community to the kids. She sure sounds like a great woman and sounds like she was loved by many.

They had to cancel last year's event and said back in the beginning of January that the 2021 event was being cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and now this news that the popular show won't be returning is certainly a blow to the Twin Ports car community. I wish the best of luck to Mr. Dejoy and the entire Motorhead Madness crew.
