A First Look Inside a Massive Amphitheater Coming to Minnesota
As we look ahead to a new year, many music fans are already filling up their calendars with 2026 concert plans, and one of those shows may take place at Minnesota’s newest major venue, which is not even built yet.
A First Look at Minnesota’s Newest Amphitheater
Opening in 2026 and already announcing major acts for its debut season, Mystic Lake Amphitheater will be Minnesota’s largest outdoor amphitheater once it opens. The venue is currently under construction in Shakopee and is shaping up to be a major new destination for live music fans across the Midwest.
A new social media post is giving concert fans a first look inside the venue, and judging by the progress shown, a significant amount of work has already been completed. The post suggests the 19,000-seat amphitheater remains on track to be finished before the first scheduled concert.

Snowy Seats, Big Plans
The short video, posted on December 26, shows the outdoor venue blanketed in snow, with the caption reading, “We can’t wait for these seats to be filled with you instead of snow!” Despite the winter conditions, the footage reveals thousands of seats already installed and gives a brief look at the developing stage area.

In the video, a large crane can be seen parked near the stage, alongside the visible framework of what will soon become the amphitheater’s main performance shell. Even in its unfinished state, the scale of the venue is apparent, hinting at the type of large touring productions it is designed to host.
A Growing Entertainment District in Shakopee
The new amphitheater is part of a larger entertainment district project in Shakopee. The development includes plans for additional shops, restaurants, and bars, along with its proximity to Canterbury Park, creating a centralized destination for concerts and entertainment in the south metro.
The venue will be managed by Live Nation, which has already announced a stacked first season lineup. Artists confirmed to perform include Iron Maiden, Guns n’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, 5 Seconds of Summer, Goo Goo Dolls, Toto, and more. With those names already booked, the venue is positioning itself as a major new stop for national tours when it opens in 2026.
