New Stadium Sparks Excitement: Wisconsin Gears Up for Historic Opening!

Exciting things are happening in Wisconsin this October, with a major event set to bring the community together. A brand-new stadium is about to open its doors, offering local sports fans a fresh place to gather and cheer on their favorite teams.

This long-awaited facility will finally debut, marking the beginning of a new chapter for sports enthusiasts in the region.

After years of planning and construction, Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium on the campus of UW-Superior will officially open its doors on October 11-12. This modern addition to the local sports scene has been highly anticipated, with many eager to see what the $7.1 million venue has to offer.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off the celebration on Friday, October 11, with local leaders and partners gathering to mark the occasion. Saturday’s activities will include a track and field meet for alumni, the launch of a fan zone, and the first-ever home soccer games to be played at the new stadium. With free commemorative T-shirts for the first 100 fans.

While the stadium's opening is a momentous occasion, it’s important to note that construction is still ongoing, and some areas won’t be finished until next year. Fundraising efforts are also continuing, giving people the chance to support this impressive project and leave their mark on the facility.

3:30 p.m. – Women’s Soccer vs. Minnesota Morris
