The University of Wisconsin Superior announced that a new partnership with Cenovus Energy and the Superior Refinery will go to help on-campus athletic facilities, including enhancements to the new stadium.

The new 3-year agreement for $450,000 will aid in the construction of the new Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium and add a video board to the project, the funds will also be used "to enhance the game-day experience for Yellowjacket student-athletes, spectators and the community."

One of those new game-day enhancements is the addition of the Cenovus Energy Fan Zone, they say this new area will be a place for fans and the community to gather pre-game for some fun at select games.

The program will feature a dinner and keynote speaker." They say to expect more details about this program in the coming months.

UW-Superior Chancellor Renée Wachter said in a press release about the new partnership, "Cenovus Energy is a valued partner of the university, supporting our students, faculty and staff through their contributions that aid student scholarships, advance research and opportunities, and invest further in our programs."

Cenovus Energy and UWS have a history of working together, including the floating classroom and research vessel, the Sadie Ann, and various student scholarships through the UW-Superior Foundation.
