The University of Wisconsin-Superior is continuing its streak of major athletic upgrades. In recent years, the Yellowjackets have opened a new stadium, announced a new track and field throws facility, unveiled a fresh logo, and now secured a naming partner for a new state-of-the-art baseball and softball complex.

UW-Superior’s Big Year Keeps Getting Bigger

UW-Superior is building a $15 million baseball and softball complex designed to elevate both the student-athlete experience and community engagement. The facility will feature NCAA-sized baseball and softball fields with premier artificial turf playing surfaces, dugouts, bullpens, batting cages, modern spectator seating, and professional-grade field lighting.

“Partnering with UW-Superior is a natural fit because we want to see the university thrive and continue to bring young people to our region, which in turn helps Superior grow,” said Brad Roden, CEO of National Bank of Commerce.

UW-Superior Chancellor Renée Wachter added, “National Bank of Commerce Park will provide our student-athletes with first-class facilities while strengthening the connections between campus and community.”

Where the Park Will Stand

The new NBC Park will be located adjacent to Wessman Arena along 28th Street, replacing the old throws facility, parking lot, and track and field complex. Once completed, the project will further solidify UW-Superior’s role as a cornerstone of growth and community pride in the Twin Ports region.
