The biggest mall in America is now the first place in Minnesota to be recognized as a Certified Autism Center. The Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe have been recognized by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) as a Certified Autism Center.

So what does this mean? From now on any visitors and families with children who have autism or some other type of sensory disorder will be given the opportunity to have a great experience and staff and the facility will hopefully meet all there needs.

In order to achieve this designation 80% of the staff working with guests had to complete and autism and sensory sensitivity and awareness training. On top of that the Mall Of America and Nickelodeon Universe went through an onsite review on how they could make the park more accessible for those with sensory sensitivities. This is a giant step in the right direction to help make all places inclusive for everyone to be able to enjoy.
