Man, this hurts. As a boat owner myself, this is probably one of my biggest fears. That's why I triple check my straps, crank locks, and safety chains. The last thing you want to see when you look in your rear view mirror is your trailer without a boat on it, but that's exactly what happened to this person this last weekend.

Dash cam footage uploaded by MNSafety shows a boat bouncing loosely on a trailer as it makes the turn in the intersection. If you look closely you can see that it is not nestled securely into the bow support on the trailer. The driver with the camera does a u turn and we can see that the boat slid off and then positioned itself on the highway sideways, blocking some traffic. You also can see the white SUV that was towing the boat driving back to pick it up. That's a bummer! Guessing from what I can see here, it looks like it's a 14FT Alumcraft boat, so hopefully it wasn't too hard to get back on the trailer. The description says it happened near Woodbury, MN. As you can see in the video, it's near an intersection with I-94.

Comments on the video are gold. "Must be a good spot for fishing." "Is that considered dry docking?" And of course, "something here is fishy."

Maybe they were new boat owners? There's a lot of people that have been trying their hand at outdoors stuff this last year, and this goes to show that there may be a little bit of a learning curve for this kind of stuff.
