Anytime you hit the road we all know you need to pay attention and sometimes keep your head on a swivel, but you need to be especially cautious when the weather is not ideal. With all this snow and ice we have not just ion the Twin Ports but all over the Midwest everyone needs to take it slow and pay attention.

Many law enforcement agencies all over the country continue to warn drivers to slow down and not get too confident if you have a bigger vehicle or 4 wheel drive, ice and slippery snow will win everytime.

Here is the statement from the Ashwaubenon Wisconsin Police Department Facebook Page, regarding the accident: Semi Vs Patrol Car. SLOW DOWN!!!

"On February 11, 2019 at approximately 0930 am an Ashwaubenon Public Safety Officer was entering the intersection on Eastbound Cormier Rd at Southbound Ashland Ave when a Southbound Semi failed to stop for the red light and struck the patrol car in the driver’s door. The impact caused the patrol car to enter the median. The Officer was initially trapped in the vehicle but was able to get free uninjured. Ashland Ave was closed for approximately 2 ½ hours. This is a good reminder to drive within safe speeds so you are able to stop and/or avoid crashes when conditions deteriorate. The semi driver was cited for Operating Too Fast For Conditions."  Thankfully this officer was uninjured, but this video is a good reminder for all of us to slow down and be careful.
